Olaa Mohamed-Ahmed is a medical doctor, academic and public health professional, who works as a Consultant in Global Public Health at the UK Health Security Agency, with a portfolio that spans One Health and health systems strengthening. She has a broad range of skills and technical expertise in health systems, health improvement and chronic/non-communicable diseases, global health security and One Health. She has been technical lead or consultant on a number of projects and collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters, WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. She has a keen interest in understanding the ecological pathways to human diseases, currently undertaking research with the University of Oxford into the epidemiology and risk factors for autoimmune diseases in China, with comparisons to the UK and elsewhere.
